Pirate Lifestyle
Pirates usually had a very rough type of lifestyle. On their ships, the normal crew would sleep in the middle of the ship while the captain slept in the stern. Below the deck of the ship was very smelly and dirty, so pirates spent most of their time above the deck.
The food that pirates ate were usually extremely hard to eat and......not good-tasting. The pirate chef was usually one that had lost an arm and could not do anything else around the ship. They sometimes ate pickled meat, dried biscuits, and bread that often had insects upon them.
Unlike us, the pirates had more to do during bad weather. They were usually busy repairing sails, going on the lookout for enemy ships, preparing cannons, and changing sails during bad weather or under pursuit of another ship. But during good weather, all they usually did was just repair ropes, and sails or maybe try and find a good-looking island to land on.
Other than that, the pirates were all usually drunk and quarrelsome. They knew that their lives could end at any given moment, and fought hard. Some of the ways they could die from are during battles with other pirates, being beheaded or hung after a fair royal trial, or being murdered or marooned by their own crew.
Overall, many pirates led a very dirty and miserable lifestyle. Although it sure is full of adventure and fortune, the whole thing could end at any given or ungiven moment! It is all full of surprises.....that they can't even understand.
